600 new printers supported by Gutenprint
Gutenprint for RISC OS release 2.32, based on Gutenprint 5.2.3, the latest
version of the Linux Gutenprint drivers, is now available.
This new release supports 615 additional printer models, increasing the
total number of supported models to over 1400. Most notably, this new
release includes support for 127 new Epson printers and 26 new Canon
printers. In addition, it offers general quality improvements, improved
borderless printing on Epson printers, and finally direct CD printing
(with suitable Epson printers).
Gutenprint for RISC OS is a printing solution based on a port of the
Gutenprint library originally written for Linux. It integrates into
Printers and can be used like any other printer driver to print from
RISC OS applications.
Gutenprint supports high-resolution printing with photo-real print quality
and offers colour correction for different media types, as well as user
defined colour correction. You can find more details at:

Currently, the Gutenprint software is only available to those who have
donated to support the project. Details about suggested donation amounts
and payment options can be found at:

R-Comp release SafeStore v1.10
R-Comp has released SafeStore v1.10, a significant upgrade in
functionality, which will be free of charge to existing customers.
SafeStore is a comprehensive, modern backup system for RISC OS machines.
Data can now be backed up in various compressed formats (Tar, Spark, or
Zip) each offering different combinations of performance vs compression.
This is ideal for backing up to systems which might otherwise lose
filetype or filename information, as well as compressing things if space
is at a premium.
The new version also includes improved error handling and adds the
ability to retry a backup at the click of a button.
